One of the highlights of Ourika valley is the visit of a watermill -an old system by which a structure, made by local Berbers, uses a water wheel turbine to drive a mechanical process, such as milling, grinding, ect.
For centuries, this system has been their main way of grinding different local products, such as wheat, corn, barley, ect.
Another highlight of Ourika Valley is "setti Fatma" -a small village belonging to Ourika, located at an altitude of 1500m (around 49 21 feet) above sea level, 30 km (around 20 miles) far from Marrakech.
The village is surrounded by steep villages and snow-capped mountains. Setti Fatma is also famous for its Cascades (known as "Cascades Ourika” - a series of seven waterfalls above the village. To get to the upper fall, You need more than a 3 hours walk. The walk is steep, so it is recommended only for physically fit people, and proper shoes are definitely needed. In the area, there are professional mountain guides that are happy to take the tourists around if they wish.
